Description: Important 1969 Original Contract for Bowie Kuhn as Commissioner of Major League Baseball. Unprecedented offering of the original executed contract between Major League Baseball and Bowie Kuhn. Typewritten six page document includes a title page, "Major League Contract with Commissioner of Baseball Dated as of February 4, 1969". Interior pages reflect the conditions and acknowledgements of Kuhn's tenure including the length of term, a pledge by Kuhn to uphold the duties and responsibilities of the office, and other related conditions. Incredibly, the final page is signed by Warren Giles, Walter O'Malley, Gabriel Paul, Joseph Cronin, Warren Giles, and Bowie Kuhn. Signatures remain in nearly pristine condition rating 10 out of 10. The lot also includes a portion of Kuhn's original employment agreement, which includes a signature page autographed by MLB Secretary/Treasurer Charles Segar. This very contract launched the term of the second longest tenured Commissioner of Major League Baseball. Substantive and certainly unique autographed document of historical import.
