Description: Scarce 1898 Wilbert Robinson auto. letter. Dated 1898 typewritten letter on J.F. Hillerich & Son stationary was sent to Baltimore Orioles Captain Wilbert Robinson by Bud Hillerich. Robinson replied back to Hillerich on the same letter at the bottom in black fountain pen. Robinson writes, "Friend Bud, I write you these few lines to let you know that myself & McGraw think there are no bats ever made that we consider as good as yours. I can safely vouch for the rest of the club that they think the same. Yours, Capt. W. Robinson B.B.C." Content and signature rate 8 out of 10. The letter itself has some very minor edge chips and some typical light separation at one fold line. Very fine 19th century correspondence with highly desirable signature of the Orioles HOF'er Robinson. Includes LOA from James Spence Authentication and letter of provenance from Hillerich & Bradsby Co: Letter: VG-EX, Signature: EX/MT-NM
