Description: Scarce Charlie Gehringer professional model baseball bat c.1934-44. Louisville Slugger 125 model bat measures 35" long and weighs 35.6oz. The bat shows excellent use including ball marks, vintage handle tape, period finish nail repairs to a handle crack on the back, and barrel wear. The bat has been autographed by (24) members of the 1936 Detroit Tigers incl. Gehringer, Goslin, Simmons, Bridges, and Cochrane. Signatures range from 2-8 out of 10. The barrel of the bat has a period inscription in black fountain pen (faded from age) which indicates that the bat was used in a game by both Gehringer and Goose Goslin. The inscription also indicates that the bat was presented to the recipient by Gehringer. The knob also has a very minor chip. One of the rarest game used player bats from the 1930s era with the offered example being one of only a few surviving examples. Includes LOA's from Hunt Auctions, Inc.
