Lot Number: 381

Description: Joe DiMaggio professional model baseball bat c.1937. Early playing career DiMaggio game bat is a Louisville Slugger 125 model measuring 35 7/8" long and weighing 33oz. According to Louisville Slugger factory records, the first order placed for this style of DiMaggio game bat with these exact specifications dates to the 1937 season. The bat shows excellent use incl. cleat marks, ball marks, stitching impressions, grain swelling, and green rack marks identified to Yankee Stadium. Louisville Slugger mfg. stampings and DiMaggio facsimile signature stamp remain intact and clearly visible. The bat's surface remains just as it was found, with some dryness and a few areas of period black soiling, which could be cleaned if so desired. Not only do Rookie era DiMaggio game bats seldom become available, but the offered exemplar also has highly desirable "Yankee green" bat rack marks, which directly confirms the bat's appropriate provenance. Includes LOA's from MEARS Authentication (graded A 7.5) and Hunt Auctions, Inc: VG-EX
