Lot Number: 326

Description: Fine Babe Ruth auto. baseball and related signed letter from Ruth c.1935. Off white Spalding "Official League" baseball with stampings on a side panel, "Made Especially For Nat C. Strong Inc." denoting its manufacture for barnstorming games. Signed on a side panel in bold black ink, "To Dick Rosebury From Babe Ruth" rating 8/9 out of 10. Dazzy Vance has signed another side panel rating 6/7 out of 10. The ball itself remains very clean with only a few minor areas of light soiling. Amazingly, the baseball includes its original accompanying letter as sent by Ruth to Cadet Lieutenant Dick Rosebury. The letter is typewritten on Ruth's personal stationary with content directly related to the included baseball and an exhibition game played in Brooklyn (likely where Vance also signed the ball). Signed, "Babe Ruth" in black fountain pen rating 9 out of 10. The letter also includes its original envelope with Ruth's monogram and address. The offered example represents one of the finest of the handful of first person documented Ruth autographed baseballs with Ruth signed accompanying provenance. Includes LOA from James Spence Authentication: Ball: EX/MT-NM, Letter: NM
