Description: Fine Smoky Joe Wood imperial cabinet photograph by Carl Horner, Boston c.1909-10. Beautiful original mounted image of Joe Wood in tie down Boston Red Sox jersey posed in a studio setting. Image size measures 9"x14" on its original 13"x19" mount. The photo itself has a few age spots mostly visible in the background area near the top. The original mount has some small creases around the perimeter from the finish nails used in the framing (remains in its original frame). Hand signed in period ink by famed Boston photographer Carl Horner at bottom right with Horner studios stampings on the mount. The offered image occupied a place of immense prominence in the Wood household for nearly 90 years until its current offering, and ranks as one of the more impressive original Horner images that we have offered.
