Description: Joe Wood Boston Red Sox undershirt c.1910. Red wool undershirt worn by Smoky Joe Wood as a member of the Boston Red Sox. Interestingly fashioned with the right arm and sections under the buttons cut out, likely to accommodate Wood's pitching preferences. Original Geo. Rockrode & Co. labeling remains in the collar and "Wood" stitched in period cream colored thread is visible on the back of the collar. The garment itself is fairly clean with vibrant original color. Interesting vintage uniform piece with unique tailoring for Wood's pitching characteristics. Includes letter of provenance from the Wood family: VG-EX
