Description: Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig auto. baseball ink blotter c.1930s. Presentational ink blotter as given out by Christy Walsh with signatures of (9) players who were signed to his agency, including Ruth, Gehrig, Hubbell, McCarthy, Schacht, DiMaggio, Feller, Lazzeri, and Dean. Sigs range from 3 (Lazzeri and McCarthy) to 8 (Ruth and Schacht). It is fairly uncommon to find Gehrig on these signed blotters as most were created from 1938-41 in conjunction with the various World's Fairs and Academy of Sport events. The blotter itself remains in nearly pristine unused condition, which is uncommon as these are typically found with heavy wear to the impressed gilt inscription on the base. One of the better exemplars of these presentational blotters that we have handled. Includes LOA from James Spence Authentication: Range VG-NM
