Description: Vintage gentleman's straw hat attributed to Connie Mack c.1910-20. Fine quality handmade straw hat with an original black ribbon around the body. The interior retains its original leather headband (partially detached) along with its satin lining and "Brodt's Inc." mfg. stampings. The hat measures 7 1/8 and was obtained directly from former Major League player and manager Bennie Bengough by the consignor. Bengough recounted that the offered hat was in fact one worn by Connie Mack. Very attractive period display piece with relation to the greatest manager in baseball history: EX
