Description: ***LATE ADDITION*** Johnny Unitas' 1959 S. Rae Hickok award belt. Hand crafted alligator skin belt with an ornate 10K gold buckle was presented to Johnny Unitas as a finalist for the annual S.Rae Hickok Professional Athlete of the Year Award. Remaining in fine original condition, the belt itself is custom made by the Hickok Manufacturing Company and is stamped as such on the interior. Finely detailed buckle features an embossed rendering of the Hickok athletic award logo with "J.U." inscribed at the base. The reverse of the buckle is inscribed, "Hickok Champion December 1959 Johnny Unitas Football" and is also stamped "Hickok USA" and "10K GOLD". Belt includes its original Hickok lidded box, which is finished in a green leather surface. The Hickok award was presented from 1950-1976 and named the nation's top professional athlete. The offered belt is one of the few that have been offered for public sale and originates directly from the personal collection of Johnny Unitas. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the American Heart Association and the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Educational Foundation, Inc. in memory of Dorothy and Johnny Unitas.
