Description: Rare Virginia Brights "Black Stocking Nine" women's baseball imperial cabinet photograph c.1884. Oversized 8"x13" cabinet photograph from the Virginia Brights series depicts a woman baseball player in early uniform catching a ball. Titled at the bottom in gilt lettering along with a date of 1884. There is a professionally restored horizontal tear at the top one third of the image and two small abrasions at the bottom two corners. Very seldom seen size format for these early women's related baseball images: EX (With note to repaired tear)
