Description: Significant George Wright auto. cabinet photograph c.1873. Fine quality studio cabinet photograph picturing George Wright in full Boston Red Stockings uniform leaning on a bat. The mount is stamped by noted Boston photography studio Warren and Heald at 289 Washington St. The image quality is very strong with bold contrast and clarity. The original mount has some minor staining at the bottom left corner and the right edge has some light wear incl. a tiny chip. The reverse of the image is beautifully signed, "I Am Ever Your Friend Geo. Wright Boston 1873" in pencil. The salutation and signature remain very bold rating 8/9 out of 10. Deacon White and George Wright were lifelong friends as evidenced by the nature of the salutations on the offered signed image. One of, if not the finest, George Wright signed photographs to have entered the collecting marketplace from a primary source.
