Description: Boston Red Stockings team cabinet photograph c.1873-77. Uncommon mounted albumen photograph picturing the Boston team posed in a casual setting in the bleachers. Players are all wearing Boston uniforms and some have sweaters incl. Harry Wright, George Wright, James White, and Albert Spalding. Each player has a small handwritten numeral written on the front which presumably matched an identification key. The image itself remains very clean with excellent contrast for its medium. The mount is stamped "C.Taylor 35 Culvert St." at the bottom and has a few minor abrasions with a corner chip at the lower right. Fine and possibly unique image of the Boston team from the White collection. Includes letter of provenance from the White family. Image size: 8"x9", Mount size: 11"x14" matted and framed : EX
