Description: 1888 Detroit Wolverines celluloid team display piece. Unusual celluloid display piece measures 6 1/4"x8 1/4" featuring incised vignettes of the players who are identified underneath. Players include Hanlon, Baldwin, Brouthers, White, and Thompson. Condition remains very fine with excellent contrast and clean original surface free of the cracking typically seen on this issue. This example is slightly toned in comparison to the other in this auction. Includes letter or provenance from the White family: EX-MT
