Description: 1921 "A New England Institution" booklet auto. by George Wright. Obscure booklet issued to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the sporting goods company Wright & Ditson. The book features a biographical account of George Wright's career and contains a title page with a photograph of Wright. Wright has signed the page under his image in black fountain pen, "Your Old Friend George Wright 1847-1922". Signature is nearly pristine rating 10 out of 10. Wright and Deacon White were lifelong friends dating back to their playing days in the 1870s with the Boston Red Stockings. The booklet itself measures 6"x8 1/2" and has some light handling wear along with a few pencil numbers written on the front cover. The offered Wright signature is, without question, one of the finest known exemplars with regard to condition and provenance.
