Description: 19th century painted trophy baseball c.1860s. One piece lemon peel style baseball with period white paint has remnants of a green painted ring on the end panel. The surface exhibits some flaking with small mounting holes at one end of the ball. No markings or period inscriptions are visible. Includes letter of provenance from the Hornung family: VG-EX
