Description: Lot of (2) Lowell BBC vs. Tecumseh trophy baseballs. Early figure eight style baseballs in period maroon paint have hand drawn gilt over red lettering listing the game scores and dates of July 17, 1878 and May 13, 1878. Overall condition is very fine retaining excellent original surface. The Lowell base ball club was one of the more significant teams of the 19th century dating back to the 1860s with such players as Sam Wright (brother of George and Harry) and Frank Whitney.
