Description: Fine Tris Speaker professional model baseball bat with factory side writing and return shipping label c.1928. This incredible rarity is, without question, the finest Speaker game used bat extant with Hillerich & Bradsby Co. factory side writing, original paper return shipping label from the Phila. Athletics, and vault stamped model number markings. Louisville Slugger 125 model bat measures 34 3/4" long and weighs 36.8 oz. The bat exhibits tremendous use incl. ball marks, cleat marks, grain swelling and pine tar residue. Factory side writing remains clearly visible on the side of the barrel, reading "Tris Speaker 7-27-28". The bat has "S39" factory vault marks stamped on both ends of the barrel and knob. Barrel retains the majority of its original return shipping label as sent from the Phila. Athletics to Hillerich & Bradsby Co. in Louisville, KY. Overall condition and patina remains exceptional with a small chip to the knob. The offered bat must be considered one of the most significant game used bats extant with regard to its unimprovable provenance, player quality, condition, and rarity.
