Description: Vintage New York Yankees equipment bag with attribution to Joe DiMaggio c.1940s-50s. Olive green canvas duffle bag has "N.Y. Yankees" stenciled in large red lettering on one end panel. "45" is stenciled in similar red numerals on the opposite end panel. The bag retains its original leather handles and remains fairly clean overall with some typical light to moderate usage wear. The bag was discovered along with several other pieces of equipment within Joe DiMaggio's Yankees equipment trunk. It is unclear what the "45" refers to as only two players wore that number during Joe's career - Frank Hiller in 1947 and Clint Courtney in 1951. Possibly refers to a date of 1945, or it may have been used by either Hiller or Courtney and then by DiMaggio. Very rare early period Yankees equipment bag in fine overall condition: EX
