Description: Pair of large format 1938 New York Yankees team photographs from the DiMaggio collection. Matched pair of sepia tone 11"x14" team images in a matte finish picture the World Champion Yankees arranged in three rows incl. DiMaggio, Gehrig, Dickey, McCarthy, and Ruffing. Includes one view that pictures the team in a formal pose looking straight ahead and an identical image showing the players laughing and smiling. DiMaggio is particularly humorous in the second variation as he is seen laughing hysterically. Stamped by photographer Izzy Kaplan, NY on the back. The smiling photo has two edge tears with tape repair on the back along with a few minor surface wrinkles. The other image remains very clean with minimal overall wear. Each image retains perfect contrast and clarity as they were found within Joe DiMaggio's sealed trunk. Includes letter of provenance from the DiMaggio family: Range VG/EX-NM
