Description: Fine 1971 Willie Stargell Pittsburgh Pirates home jersey. "Pops" embodied the Pittsburgh Pirates teams of the 1970s era gaining respect as one of the finest sluggers in the game. Offered is an exceptional 1971 Pittsburgh Pirates home jersey as worn by Hall of Fame member Willie Stargell during the Pirates 1971 World Championship season. White knit jersey retains its original team name on front with #8 on both front and back. Rawlings and dry clean tags remain affixed to the interior tail area with some fraying to the ends of the Rawlings tag where the set/year flag tag was once affixed. The shirt exhibits strong usage incl. appropriate toning areas, wash wear, and some lt. staining. Stargell has signed the front of the jersey in black marker across the bottom. Stargell's 1971 season was one of the finest of his career with 48 home runs, 125 RBI's, and a batting average of .295 en route to helping the Pirates capture the 1971 World Championship.
