Description: Fine Joe DiMaggio 1937 New York Yankees World Championship presentational pocketwatch. Joe DiMaggio picked up in 1937 where he had left off in his rookie campaign of 1936. His 1937 season would prove to be one of the finest of his career as he compiled a .346 batting average with 167 RBI's and a career high of 46 home runs. Together with Lou Gehrig, he led the Yankees to yet another World Championship victory over the New York Giants. Hamilton gold presentational pocketwatch was given to Joe DiMaggio in honor of the Yankees 1937 title. The watch dial features gold "World Champs" lettering in the numerals positions. The reverse is engraved, "Presented By Baseball Commissioner to Joseph DiMaggio". Overall condition remains superb with brilliant original surface and minimal general wear retaining its original Hamilton case. Personal player World Championship awards of this quality and player caliber are exceedingly rare with very few having entered the marketplace.
