Lot Number: 856

Description: Rare 1954 Marilyn Monroe United States Passport. Significant original U.S. Passport issued to Marilyn Monroe for her Oriental Tour with Joe DiMaggio in 1954. The Passport features four different Marilyn signatures including, "Norma Jeane DiMaggio" and "Marilyn Monroe" on the "Description of Bearer" page. The following page has an inset original black and white 3" square photograph of Marilyn signed, "Norma Jeane DiMaggio" and "Marilyn Monroe" in black fountain pen. All signatures remain very bold ranging from 9-10 out of 10. Additionally, Marilyn filled out the personal address information on the interior cover in her own hand including her married name (printed, not signed), "Mrs. Joseph Paul DiMaggio". The Passport has several other very interesting features including typewritten text near the Dept. of State Seal that reads "Norma Jeane DiMaggio known as Marilyn Monroe". The back of the book is stamped by several countries incl. Korea and Japan. Lot also includes all of Marilyn's World Health Organization Vaccination papers which are interestingly signed (8) times by future NL President Dr. Robert (Bobby) Brown. The offered Passport may very well contain the most substantive Marilyn Monroe autograph examples in existence with four separate signatures and a scarce full printed name variation. Includes LOA from James Spence Authentication: NM
