Description: Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio fishing rods with documentation c.1954. Finely crafted pair of custom made bamboo fishing rods designed for Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio during their trip to Japan. The rods were made by "Tosaku" who, according to the included letter, was the finest maker of fishing rods in Japan. Marilyn's rod is approx. 7" shorter then Joe's. Each rod remains in fine original condition with its "Tosaku" decal intact. Lot also includes the original 1954 letter sent with the rods from Japan and (2) unused spools of fishing line which are referenced in the letter as well. A xerox copy of Joe DiMaggio's customs declaration list, which mentions the two fishing poles, is included: EX
