Description: Joe DiMaggio presentational shotgun c.1941. Winchester model # 21 twelve gauge shotgun as presented to Joe DiMaggio in 1941 by the Essex County, NJ prosecutor's office. The plate just in front of the trigger area is engraved, "To The Yankee Clipper from Capt. Jos. Cocozza Essex County Prosecutor's Office Newark, NJ June 30, 1941". The gun has had some restoration including re-soldering to the barrels from separation and refinishing to the wooden stock. The gun is not operable and is for display purposes only. Interestingly, the gun is dated June 30, 1941; just one day earlier DiMaggio had broken George Sisler's modern day record of 41 games straight with a base hit.
