Description: 1939 Joe DiMaggio "Golden Laurel award. Significant presentational award given to DiMaggio for the title of "Outstanding Performer in Sports" during the year of 1939. The award itself features a gilt laurel wreath with "American Academy of Sport Golden Laurel New York World's Fair" in the center. "Joe DiMaggio 1939" is inscribed on a placard beneath. 8" tall remaining in its original presentational display casing. Includes (2) original 1939 photos of DiMaggio receiving the award along with the original program itinerary given to DiMaggio himself. The lot also includes a broadside advertising the Golden Laurel Award announcement and a press release.
