Description: Significant Frank Frisch single signed baseball used in a double header in 1934. Toned Heydler NL ball signed by Frisch on the sweet spot rating 6/7 out of 10. Inscribed on a side panel, "Sept. 16,1934 1st Game-St.Louis-5, Giants-3 2nd Game-St. Louis-3, Giants-1 Double Header Polo Grounds 61,000". The pair of games played at the Polo grounds was the largest crowd in the history of the stadium at 62,573. Dizzy and Paul Dean combined to win both games for the Cardinals who were at the time trailing the Giants by 5 1/2 games until the two victories. The Gashouse Gang would not look back as they went on to capture the NL pennant and eventually the World Championship over the Detroit Tigers. In addition to the game significance of the ball itself, this is the first playing career single signed Frisch ball that we have encountered.
