Description: Rare pair of July 1948 Babe Ruth photographs by Leroy Merriken. Lot of two original black and white images of a very frail Babe Ruth taken during his final trip to St. Mary's in Baltimore. The images reflect amazing detail and fully illustrate the grave nature of Ruth's failing health. Stamped by Merriken on the reverse. We have not previously seen these images in publication: EX-MT
