Description: Rare June 12, 1939 Hall of Fame Induction Day large format photograph inscribed by G.C. Alexander. Oversized 11"x14" sepia tone image taken during the 1939 Hall of Fame Induction Day ceremonies pictures (10) members of the famed class. Includes Honus Wagner, G.C. Alexander, Tris Speaker, George Sisler, Walter Johnson, Eddie Collins, Babe Ruth, Connie Mack, and Cy Young. Photo is inscribed at the bottom, "To an old "Pal" Charlie-Grover" in black ink signed in the hand of HOF'er Grover Cleveland Alexander. The image itself retains excellent clarity for its size with some light areas of age toning and some typical light surface crazing. We have not previously encountered an original image from the 1939 induction day of this size and quality: EX
