Description: Rare Winchester Sporting Goods football advertising display c.1915-20. Huge three panel cardboard display measuring 40"x54" depicts a very attractive color lithographic football game scene. A quotation from Teddy Roosevelt is printed across two of the panels and reads, "In Life as in Football the principle to follow is...Hit the line hard, don't foul, don't shirk, but hit the line hard". Reverse of the display features a three panel advertisement for Winchester flashlights and batteries. Piece has a few typical edge chips and some creasing mostly to the bottom and top borders which is commonly seen on this style of display.
