Description: 1887 South Bend Greenstockings team cabinet photograph. Mounted 4"x6" albumen studio image of the 1887 "Champions of Indiana" team posed in full uniform with early equipment visible. "Bonney & Wallace, South Bend Photographer" is stamped on the mount at the left side along with a light pencil signature. The Greenstockings were a very popular team in the Indiana area during the late 19th century and routinely drew large crowds. Included in the image is James Burns who later went on to become the President of Notre Dame from 1919-1922: EX
