Description: New York Giants warm up sweater c.1920. High quality maroon wool knit sweater with applied "N.Y." on the front. Interior retains its original Spalding manufacturer tagging and the sweater remains in fine original condition with some minimal age wear. Orignates from the estate of Francis P. Meehan who was elected to the Seton Hall Athletics Hall of Fame in 1973. Meehan played both baseball and basketball, including a stint with the 1929-30 original Boston Celtics. The offered sweater is one of only a handful of surviving examples relating to the days of Christy Mathewson and John McGraw.
