Description: Superb collection of over (120) vintage auto. baseball photographs c.1930-70's. Simply incredible assemblage of baseball signed images from the McAlister collection with substantial breakdown value. The images are a mixture of color and b&w photos primarily taken from various publications. The majority is affixed to period scrapbook pages and are easily removable evidenced by several sample removals. The quality and quantity of the items is not only impressive, but as an added value, the majority of the "modern era" players (such as Rose, Fisk, etc.) signed early in their careers. Signatures include the following with many in duplication: DiMaggio, Paige, Fox, Spahn, J.Robinson, Medwick, Stengel, Koufax, Drysdale, DiMaggio brothers (all on one image), 1937 All-Star partial AL team incl. Greenberg. (DiMaggio is clubhouse signed), Hubert Humphrey, (2) Mantle, Maris, Paige/Feller, several HOF induction images, Hodges, and McCarthy. Sizes range from 3"x4" to 8"x10" with a large portion of the photos being full color 8"x10" magazine photos. Very fine lot assembled during the formative era in autograph collecting.
