Description: All-Star team photograph c.1914 by Leroy Merriken. Diminutive 5"x10" sepia tone image taken at Baltimore during a series of "warm up" games played between the collection of All-Star players and the Phila. Athletics. Connie Mack had arranged for the games in order to prepare his players for the upcoming World Series. Photo pictures Cobb, Johnson, Street, Chase, and Joe Wood. Several other Washington and Boston players are also pictured. The image has a section (approx. 3" tall) of restoration at left edge. Clarity and contrast remain exceptional. To date this is believed to be the only existing original image of this "All-Star" assemblage of players: VG-EX (With note to restoration)
