Description: Significant Jackie Robinson and Roy Campanella auto. photograph c.1947. A gentleman by the name of Teddy Chisolm was the assistant manager at the Regent Theater in Bedford Stuyvesant, New York. The manager of the theater, Ben Resnick, had hired Jackie Robinson to make appearances at the theater and as such he and Mr. Chisolm were to meet Jackie at Ebbets Field in order to take a photograph for promotion. The offered image was taken immediately upon Jackie's arrival to the field as he was late having gotten lost in Brooklyn on the way to the field. The image was later signed by Jackie in blue ink, "Best Wishes from Jackie Robinson" and by Roy Campanella, "Best Wishes from Roy Campanella". Campanella was also hired by Resnick to make appearances at the theater. Robinson signature remains very strong rating 9 out of 10, Campanella has some slight fading to the end of the last name and rates 7/8 out of 10. This is the first vintage Robinson and Campanella signed image that we have offered with special mention of the historical import of the image itself.
