Description: 1909 Detroit Tigers photographic display piece. Rare and ornate photographic display featuring portrait photographs of the AL Champion Tigers players in vignette arrangement atop an oversized baseball. Players are identified under each image incl. Cobb, Jennings, Stanage, Crawford, Jones, and President Frank Navin. "Champions American League" and "Detroit 1909" are emblazoned in gilt decor surrounding the central image along with the Tiger mascot. 17 3/4"x21" in its original frame the piece has a vertical center crease/tear that has been repaired from the reverse (improvable if so desired) and some edge chipping not visible unless closely inspected. Marked Geo. B. Hess-G.L. Lunge, Pittsburgh at the bottom. One of only a few surviving examples: VG-EX (With note to tear repair)
