Description: Rare Ty Cobb Detroit Tigers home pants c.1920's. High quality flannel pants with blue pinstripes and hand tailored cuffs were worn by Ty Cobb while playing for the Detroit Tigers in the 1920's. Interior waist retains Spalding tag and sewn in laundry tag which has faded, but clearly visible, "T.R. Cobb" lettering. "Cobb" is also chain stitched alongside of a button in the fly area in black. Pants exhibit evident usage including some moderate staining and interior wear consistent with use/washing. The offered pants originated from a private estate collection in 1993 along with several other Detroit Tigers related articles from the same era. In addition to a few documented Cobb jerseys from the era and a hat which was recently discovered, these pants are among the elite surviving uniform pieces from Cobb's glory years with the Detroit Tigers.
