Description: Fine Sandy Koufax Los Angeles Dodgers professional model hat c.1965. Striking Dodger blue hat with classic white "LA" on front having a vintage #32 written in black under the bill. Tim McAuliffe tag remains on interior leather band which also has Pro KM and size 7 1/4 stamped into the band. Hat exhibits nice usage incl. perspiration toning and appropriate buckling to the front of leather headband. Hat was obtained directly by a Dodger Stadium clubhouse employee along with a Claude Osteen game used bat (which has since been sold). It is the recollection of the employee that he obtained the hat during the 1965 season which is consistent with the fact that Osteen's first year was 1965 and Koufax retired in 1966. Sandy Koufax is revered as one of the finest pure pitchers in baseball history with the offered hat dating to the pinnacle of his career and the Dodgers glory era.
