Description: Fine 1961 Willie Mays All-Star professional model baseball bat. Beautifully grained Adirondack model 302 having "Willie Mays" white lettering stamped on barrel end along with block letter "1961 All-Stars". Knob end has M63 stamped, bat shows evident usage incl. crack on the back of the handle and ball marks. Bat retains a fine original finish with some wear to the end of the barrel. The second 1961 All-Star game was played at Boston and ended in a historic, and first, tie score. The bat was obtained during the game played at Boston's Fenway Park by the bat boy after Willie had cracked the bat. Special event bats with provenance of this type are exceedingly rare.
