Description: ****NOTE: CORRECTED LOT DESCRIPTION: Arthur "Dazzy" Vance Most Valuable Player award medal. Coveted brass medal measures 3" in diameter with an embossed baseball player figural at the center. "The National League Most Valuable Player--Arthur C. Vance 1924" raised lettering encircles the central design area. Back is stamped Robbins Co., Attleboro MA. Vance was awarded the first League issued National League MVP award in 1924 (AL received awards from 1921-23) by turning in a career season with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Vance's statistics for the 1924 season are literally unbelievable leading the NL in (11) different categories incl: Wins-28, Complete Games-30, Strikeouts-262, and ERA-2.16. The offered medal was one of three created (one is in a private collection and Vance's is in the HOF): EX-MT
