Description: Philadelphia Athletic auto. catcher's mitt c.1912-14. Professional quality Reach buckle back catcher's mitt signed by approx. (19) members of the Phila. A's incl. Mack, Collins, McInnis, Morgan, Coombs, and Ryan. Signatures range from 1-6 out of 10 with many having become very faded from age. Glove originated directly from the family of HOF pitcher Eddie Plank. Almost definitively a professional model game used catcher's mitt used by either Jack Lapp or Wally Schang. Lacings to the edge of the mitt have some replacements and the buckle back strap has been re-sewn into the leather. Desirable Athletics related piece from their dynasty era. Includes LOA from PSA/DNA J.Spence-S.Grad and letter of provenance from the Plank family: Glove: VG, Signatures: Range PR-VG/EX
