Description: Lot of (5) June 13, 1948 Babe Ruth photographs by William C.Greene. Handsome grouping of black and white 8"x10" images taken by noted New York photographer William C. Greene during the Yankee Stadium 25th anniversary celebration. Babe Ruth's number three was retired as he made his final appearance at the stadium in which he had created so many lasting memories. Image subjects include Ruth at his locker, William Harridge announcing Ruth's number retirement, Ruth and Gehrig's lockers on the field, and Ruth standing at the microphone while leaning on a bat for support recalling his 1923 first home run in Yankee Stadium. Three of the images retain original handwritten identification tags on the back by Greene and one is stamped by Greene: Range EX-NM
