Lot Number: 1047

Description: Scarce President Warren G. Harding single signed baseball. Lightly toned Reach "American League Junior" baseball which is slightly smaller then an official AL baseball. Ball has been signed on the sweet spot, "Warren G. Harding" in black fountain pen. Signature remains notably strong rating 8/9 out of 10. Harding was elected President of the United States in 1921 mostly due to the support of fellow Senators who wanted Harding to be their voice in the Executive branch. After several years the economy began to fare well and Harding was given a measure of credit even in the face of numerous scandals that were developing within his administration. Harding passed away in August of 1923 in San Francisco as a result of a heart attack. In addition to the offered single signed Harding baseball there are only two other documented examples. One resides in a private collection and the other is in the collection of the National Baseball Hall of Fame courtesy of the family of Walter Johnson. The rarity of such an item cannot be overstated especially due to the fact that Harding was in office for only two years and died suddenly. Includes letter of provenance from the Donnelly family and LOA from PSA/DNA J.Spence-S.Grad: Ball: EX-MT, Signature: NM
