Description: Fine Earl Averill professional model baseball bat c.1934-5. L.Slugger 125 model bat measures 36" long and weighs 38oz. with bold centerbrand and facs. name stampings. Bat shows strong usage incl. small handle crack, barrel use, small deadwood repair with finish nails on back of barrel, and has been factory side written "Earl Averill 3-20-33? Cleveland Amer. BBC". Another side panel has several period bat specifications written as well. Knob end has vault marked model number A01 stamped and repeats on the end of the barrel. Averill was a key member of the Indians for many years tallying over 2,000 total hits and 238 lifetime home runs. One of the most coveted of all pre war HOF'er model game bats with less than (10) known and the offered example ranking as the finest known. Includes LOA from SCD Authentic D.Bushing/D.Knoll and letter of provenance from the Hillerich & Bradsby Co: EX
