Description: Early Univ. of Virginia baseball equipment lot with possible relation to Happy Chandler c. 1915-25. Includes a Virginia pennant, Univ. of Virginia "Boston" style baseball cap (small bill stamped Spalding inside), and a studio cabinet photo of a Virginia player in uniform signed by Happy Chandler. Unusual group in that Chandler never attended Virginia and it although the photo slightly resembles him we do not believe it to be him. The signature however is almost definitively that of Chandler and signed in the period. We conclude that he signed this photo possibly to a friend at Virginia as he attended Kentucky, nonetheless a fine group of period equipment. Lot also includes two early athletic hats: Range VG-EX/MT
