Description: 1945 World Series game used baseball. Clear coated and moderately toned Harridge AL ball used in Game #1 of the 1945 World Series at Briggs Stadium, Detroit. Inscribed on side panel, "Ball Used in 1945 World Series at Detroit, Mich. First Game Cubs-9 Det.-0". Opposite side panel is inscribed "Batt(i)ery Chicago Borowy-P & Livingstone-C Detroit Newhauser & Richards". The Cubs shellacked the Tigers at home in game #1 by a score of 9-0 against their ace Hal Newhauser. The Series would inevitably turn against the Cubs with the Tigers winning in seven games.
