Description: Scarce Hugh Duffy handwritten letter. Very rare letter written on Portland Baseball Club stationary to Lawton (Whitey) Witt inquiring about his interest in playing professional baseball. Boldly signed "Yours Truly, Hugh Duffy" in blue fountain pen. Also includes the original envelope addressed in Duffy's hand. Duffy was an exceptional player for Boston in the 19th century and died in 1954. Includes LOA from PSA/DNA J.Spence-S.Grad: EX-MT
