Description: Rare and possibly unique E-Z Ball Gum coin operated gumball machine with baseball marquee c.1920's. Fine quality painted cast iron base retains its original blown glass bowl with original E-Z gum decal on front. Includes two vintage padlocks and remains in working order. Atop the bowl is the original wrapped celluloid marquee sign featuring a baseball game scene graphic. Flanking the game scene are two vertical "scoreboards" one of which lists star players incl. Cobb, Ruth, Speaker, and Johnson. Sign has some moderate age wear incl. a few surface scratches but remains complete and intact with no restoration. The offered machine was recently discovered in a private estate where it had been obtained in the period. This machine is the mate to the seldom seen E-Z Ball Gum machine with a generic batter marquee. We have not before seen nor handled this marquee with player names: EX
