Description: Important Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig autographed imperial size photograph c. 1928. Oversized 14"x18" mounted image of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig (w/cigarette in his mouth) in street clothes walking with Congressman Fiorello Laguardia with a throng of follower's seen walking behind the three New York notables. Laguardia was a seasoned New York Congressman by the late 1920's (first Italian American Congressman) en route to being elected Mayor of New York City in 1933. The offered photograph was believed to have hung in Laguardia's office while serving as Mayor of New York. Image has been signed by Ruth and Gehrig on the jacket of Laguardia in black fountain pen with the signatures rating 7 out of 10. Image itself has a two small areas of inpainting in the background and some other minor surface wear incl. some light scratching. Photo has been archivally matted and framed.
