Description: Rare Philadelphia Athletics uniform patch c.1908-1915. Offered is an original blue on white "A" which was once attached to the front of a Phila. Athletics jersey. The "A" symbol remains today as one of the most recognized and storied in baseball history. The patch has evidence of usage wear and a few minor moth holes/areas of soiling most of which are on the back. Includes an original 8"x14" cabinet photograph c.1908-15 of Jack Lapp wearing a jersey with a similar (if not the actual) "A" patch on the front. With original period Athletics jerseys from the early 1900's numbering under (5) the offered patch represents a significant discovery of A's related equipment from a documented player source: EX
